Who we are

Prompta is a daily AI-powered story puzzle game available at this website. References to "Prompta," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to the operator of this site. For privacy-related inquiries, contact us at privacy@promptaapp.com.

What we collect and why

We collect the minimum data needed to operate the game. Here is what we collect and why:

Gameplay data	Your submitted words and scores for the current story — used to show your results and calculate your streak
Session analytics	Anonymous play metrics: which blank you reached, completion, browser/OS type — used to understand how the game is played and improve it
Cookies and local storage	Keeping you signed in, storing your theme preference, remembering consent choices

How we use your data

To operate your account and enforce one game per day
To calculate and display your score, streak, and game history
To improve the game based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns
To display advertising (when ads are enabled — see below)
We do not sell your personal data to third parties
We do not use your data to train AI models

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Supabase — stores your account and game history. Supabase Privacy Policy
Anthropic — scores your submitted words via Claude Haiku. Your words are sent to Anthropic's API but are not stored by us beyond your game session. Anthropic Privacy Policy
Vercel — hosts this website and may log request metadata (IP address, headers) as part of standard infrastructure operation. Vercel Privacy Policy
Google AdSense (when enabled) — displays advertisements. Google may set cookies to show relevant ads based on your browsing history. You will be asked for consent before these cookies are set. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.

Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

Essential cookies — required for the site to function. These include your authentication session. No consent required.
Preference cookies — store your theme setting (light/dark). No consent required as they contain no personal data.
Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense to show relevant ads. These require your explicit consent and will not be loaded until you accept.

Data retention

Account data is retained until you delete your account
Game history is retained indefinitely to support streaks and personal stats
Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 90 days
Server request logs (Vercel infrastructure) are retained per Vercel's standard policy

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected
Deletion — request that your account and associated data be deleted
Portability — request your gameplay data in a machine-readable format
Opt-out of advertising — withdraw consent for advertising cookies at any time; this will not affect your ability to play

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under CCPA. To submit a data request or opt out of any future data sharing, contact privacy@promptaapp.com.

Children

Prompta is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at privacy@promptaapp.com and we will delete the account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Prompta after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
